Russ Gorman, Managing Member

Russ has broad experience in financial services as a director in Merrill Lynch’s high-yield credit research team and as a VP and senior analyst in Moody’s Investors Services’ leveraged finance group.

He started at Union Bank in California and then advanced to corporate and investment banking roles in global relationship management and credit structuring at Barclays Capital, Societe Generale, Bank of New York, and City National Bank. In addition to his work in banking and credit research, Russ was an advisory board member at a VC firm and a CFO/COO for an electrical contracting company In California.

Russ started Gorman Capital Strategies (GCS) in 2004 to bring Wall Street ‘know-how’ to owner-shareholder companies doing business on Main Street.

He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute, a CFP® with the CFP Board of Standards, and is FINRA 7 and 66 registered. He has a life and health insurance producer’s license in IL & CA and is an Enrolled Agent with IRS Circular 230 approval (not practicing). Russ is a member of the New York Society of Securities Analysts, the Chicago Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth, and the Illinois Financial Planning Association. Russ received an MBA in Corporate Finance and an AB in History and Economics from the University of Southern California.
